Startup added several features to the app and sold five white-labels.

Lighter treats heart disease, obesity, and diabetes with a plant-based diet. I helped ship several new features and systematize their UI design for a B2B pivot.

Strategy

Tooling for scale

Getting the app on a pattern master was a crucial step towards white labeling it for leaders in the nutrition space, including pre-acquisition Whole Foods. Preparing the app for new branding became a stepwise process of redefining the colors, fonts and components according to the partners’ branding guidelines. We were able to launch five white labels in six months.

Innovation

Shaping a new product

In addition to sketching ideas with the team, I supported backlog grooming, prioritization, and sizing with the engineers and product manager.

Design systems had yet to prevail as the standard approach for scaling UIs. I worked closely with Lighter’s only engineer to describe the app’s visual elements in a language that made the most sense to him.
